I love walking around Ohori Park (大濠公園)

I like to walk around Ohori Park(大濠公園) which is circled park 2km around.

Walk around their main big pond.

Most popular park in Fukuoka city.

This park has been there even before I was born.

Living around nature in the city.

It is not as big as Central Park in NYC but a convenient place to feel a bit natural in the city.

From the center of Fukuoka(Let’s place Tenjin), it is only 2 stops away by subway.

Recently there has been some development in the park, now there is a park side Starbucks, boat house where there is fancy restaurant and pancake cafe, you should go there for a date and sometimes enjoy swan paddle boat haha.

This cafe has Green Tea from Yame-city from Fukuoka.

There are decent apartments around Ohori Park. Nearest subway stations are Ohorikoen Station(大濠公園駅), Tojinmachi(唐人町駅) and Akasaka(赤坂駅).

My favorite part is to find a neat cafe around this area, coffee place, bakery…

Kuromon Cafe(黒門カフェ)

One of my favorite coffee place is called “Kuromon cafe(黒門カフェ)” located west side out of Ohori park, around 2-3minutes walk.

There are bakeries and coffee roasters besides each other.

The house style is old Japanese called Kominka(古民家), my favorite style.

Getting some bread and coffee and having them in the park is one of the things you should try!

Bakery and cafe are besides each other.

Lunch at Papparayray(パッパライライでランチ)

I recommend the place called “Papparayray” where is 15minutes away from Ohori park by foot, they tried to use the vegetable from local and organic. If you are looking for healthy food, they are the one. You would enjoy old Japanese house looking as well(called Kominka(古民家)).

Old Japanese Style house is popular recently.
Vegetables from Itoshima and around.

After the lunch, you may find luxury Japanese tea shop near Papparayray called “万(Yorozu)”.

They only take reservations and normally they don’t take walk-in guests.

You should book before you go.

They have Japanese tea courses with various types of Japanese tea and Japanese neat sweets.

A Tea master will brew Japanese tea here.
Traditional Japanese Sweets.
Depends on the tea, you may enjoy tea 3 times.
