Hakata is known as the main central place for Fukuoka.
Hakata station is the end destination of Shinkansen from Tokyo.
Also from the Fukuoka Airport, it is only 2 stops away by subway.

This Hakata Station has been renovated while ago and now it became modern building you may enjoy shopping, restaurants.
Japanese people love to by Omiyage when you go some where and come back, or go somewhere to see friends or even for work.
So there are plenty type of Omiyage(Survenir) at the Hakata station as well especially food lol
There are 2 main exit/entrance at Hakata station, Chikushi-guchi(筑紫口) or Hakata-guchi(博多口).
From Chikushi exit, you can find the Shinkansen Ticket Office(みどりの窓口)easily as it is right on the left when you enter.
And you may see there is “HELLO KITTY CAFE” on 2nd floor.
Does anyone has tried yet? I have not, but I would like to go.
As on the main feature picture, the Hakata-exit is opposite from Chikushi-exit.
It takes about 3-5mins just go from one to another. So Hakata Station is not so huge compared to the Tokyo Station.
From Hakata-exit, you may find other transportation such as bus towards Tenjin.
There is department store called “Kitte” has been build recently.
JR Hakata City
Since it is combined station they named as “JR Hakata City”.
From Hakata station to Tenjin station, you may take the subway or bus.
Local bus from Hakata station to Tenjin is 100JPY.
Hakata station area is office/ shopping/ restaurant area. There are many hotels to stay and easy access to Shinkansen.
Please take some time to walk around this area as well.
